Well, what a week!

It was a good week - last week! First of all, all my ICT students met their deadline. This resulted in a whole week of N64 - Mario Kart, X Box - Halo and MegaDrive - Streets of Rage - all at once may I add, together with cricket on the TV. Still a sucessfully met deadline - and methinks may be a good ploy for the next one!!

Awards Ceremony for Year 10 was Tuesday, and I was introduced by the Head Boy, as "the lovely Miss Crawte" - I must say I spent the rest of the week walking around as "the lovely Miss Crawte"!! LOL

Friday, was the first gig of "Detention Duty", featuring Siouxsie Strange, Jumpin Jim Flash and the Stix. It was brilliant fun. I managed to borrow a long black wig, a dog collar and some black eyeshadow. I think I looked a bit evil. We played, Bad Moon Rising and Buck Rogers. The whole school was dancing at the end.

Brilliant week!!

The Engagement Weekend

The 16th July 2005 saw my son and his girlfriend celebrate their formal engagement. We had a huge party - over 100+ people and had 'life' music, which consisted of 'On The Level', 'Trespass', Mike and grand showcase of the first live performance of 'Siouxsie Strange'!!!!

What a night! SAY NO MORE!

Deadline Day! 18th July 2005 3:50 pm

Today is the day when all my ICT students are due to hand in their coursework. The FINAL deadline - they seem to think I may extend it!!!! They are under the wrong impression. The reward for handing in on time is the rest of the week playing games - X Box, PS2 - Mega Drive?

TO say the least, I am a little nervous about it!!

AC/DC and the tale of the Tortoise

Had a great weekend playing Bass guitar and learning lots of AC/DC tracks!

Bought a new tent - my daughter had loads of friends over - mad house!

An old friend called Kev came over and we caught up over a red wine.

The Tale of the Tortoise

I saw a tortoise, but when I went back it wasn't there - I thought I had had a hallucination - (normal, some would say) looking around I spotted it - it had crossed the road and up a bit in less than a minute!! Further investigations and knocking on doors led to it having been an escaped tortoise of 2 weeks. It was over 60 years old and going strong!

Still its back where it belongs now!

Year 13 Sixth Form Ball

Went to the Sixth Form Ball last night at the Stoke BY Nayland Club - it was a brilliant 'do'! Jordan Livermore as MC was just so funny and entertaining - he will be missed! It is just fantastic to see the students all dressed up in their finery and splendour. Peter Whitwell in his wedding suit and gold pocket watch. Jack Addis with his straight hair - almost Marilyn Manson looking. Chris Moore in his suit and converse baseball boots. Best one I've been to so far - hope to go to next year's! Phil Walker won some awards - they tried to get him on the phone! Michael Matope turned up at 10.30p.m. - but I had already eaten his dinner!

Today, Monday 4th July - Tales of Luka

Today, was a fun day. Did lots of marking. Had the company of Boris Van Whymark and Davo most of the day, exchanging Luka stories. Fond memories, such as the hole punch incident, the elbow grease episode and the "She scares me" story, and "would you like to have counselling with my mother?" Never to be forgotten and imortalised on the ICT Room Sixth Form Hall of Fame! Another few faces were added today - including a very scary Jordan face!!! AAAGGHH!!!

Signing Out!!

Induction Day continued

Thought I would add a bit more. We went bowling in the afternoon, so it gave us time to all chat, confirm subjects and meet our tutor groups. Bowling was fun - I came second. My first bowl was a strike!!! Could not believe it, it was such a flukey thing to do! Mind you, the next go I had, I dropped the ball!! That was funny! Really enjoyed it though. Must remember to always use a number 8 ball whenever I go bowling.

Today, 1st July 2005

Today was the day I met my new tutor group. I must say I was really impressed with them and really pleased that we did really well in the task. They had to build a structure out of straws, sellotape, string and a paper cup which would hold an egg up high in the air, without breaking! We improvised with a few bits and pieces, but then who wouldn't given the chance? We were almost first, but just lost out to Mr Kiely's class. Our class motto is "Be the Best" - I am sure we will!
Looking forward to September 2005!
